Biography / 6m / Short / Documentary
This documentary short takes a look at life in the townships in the late 1970's, through the eyes of Esther Mtini. As a young woman, Esther moved from the Transkei to Cape Town in search of work and a better life. She remembers the violent marches and protests against the apartheid government, the humiliation of having to carry around a 'passbook', police brutality, and how cultural and racial attitudes in South Africa have changed since then.
